Overview
The Fergus Falls Planning Commission is a seven-member board of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Commission works closely with city staff and residents during public meetings to review land use and development proposals. Their role includes making recommendations on zoning changes, land use permits, and city code to guide the city’s growth.

The Planning Commission meets every 4th Monday of the month at 5:15 PM in City Council Chambers and streamed on Youtube.

Planning Commission Hearing Update- May 27, 2025
Please note that the public hearing for the variance request (V-2025-2) at 528 Western Avenue has been cancelled. The applicant has withdrawn their submission.
The other two hearings will proceed as scheduled before the City of Fergus Falls Planning Commission on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 112 Washington Ave. W, Fergus Falls, MN:
- C-2025-2: A request by Scenic Sign Corporation for a Conditional Use Permit to construct a three-sided pylon sign in a B-3 General Business District at 226 East Lincoln Avenue (Parcel ID: 71002990210900). See submission materials.
- I-2025-3: A request by Sugar High Cannabis Consulting & Dispensary LLC for an Interim Use Permit to operate a retail cannabis dispensary in a B-3 General Business District at 123 East Lincoln Avenue (Parcel ID: 71002990196000). See submission materials.
