Overview
The Fergus Falls Planning Commission is a seven-member board of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Commission works closely with city staff and residents during public meetings to review land use and development proposals. Their role includes making recommendations on zoning changes, land use permits, and city code to guide the city’s growth.
Planning Commission Meetings
The Planning Commission meets every 4th Monday of the month at 5:15 PM in City Council Chambers and streamed on Youtube.
Upcoming Cases
The Fergus Falls Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 112 W. Washington Ave., to consider the following requests:
  1.  C-2025-3: Conditional Use Permit by Westwood PS (Les Schwab Tire Centers) to operate a car/truck service and repair shop in a B-2 District at 1701 W. Lincoln Ave (PID 71003500195054).
  2. P-2025-1 & F-2025-1: Combined Preliminary and Final Plat of Centerpointe Addition by Houston Engineering at 1701 W. Lincoln Ave (PID 71003500195054).
  3. V-2025-2: Variance to add a 6-ft covered porch in the front yard at 1222 N. Lake St (PID 7100299033500), R-2 District.
  4. V-2025-3: Variance to reduce 10-foot parking setbacks to 5 feet along property lines and to 0 feet between PID 7103500195015 and a proposed new parcel by Division 25 LLC at 528 Western Ave. 
  5. P-2025-2 & F-2025-2: Combined Preliminary and Final Plat of FF Ventures Addition by Division 25 LLC at 528 Western Ave (PID 7103500195015).

All interested persons are encouraged to attend. Alternatively, comments may be submitted by email to commdev@fergusfallsmn.gov by noon on June 23 for presentation at the meeting.
